Greetings, Friends & Colleagues.

I hope you will be able to attend Caroline’s organ recital on Sunday, April 13th, beginning at 6:30 P.M. at at Greenville’s First Baptist Church , located at the corner of Faris and Cleveland streets. Showcasing repertoire that spans a wide historical and stylistic spectrum, there is surely something of delight for every listener.

Kathy and I would like to thank Caroline’s organ teacher, Dr. Charles Tomkins of Furman University, for obtaining use of FBC and its superb Cassavant organ for this performance. Kathy and I hope to invite you to the reception which will follow Caroline’s recital, and therefore need to know whether or not you plan to attend. Caroline Judith Robinson began her organ studies at the age of twelve under the tutelage of Mr. Adam Pajan, who is Head Organist and Choirmaster of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a senior at Furman University. She now studies with Dr. Charles Tompkins of Furman University. Caroline has studied piano since the age of 5 and currently studies piano with Mr. Fabio Parrini of North Greenville College. Caroline has received organ coaching from Alan Morrison of the Curtis Institute, Dr. David Boe and Dr. James David Christie of Oberlin Conservatory, Wilma Jensen of Nashville, TN, and Thomas Bara of Interlochen Arts Camp. She holds the position of assistant organist at St. Mary’s Church in Greenville, SC. Her playing has been broadcast on NPR’s “Pipedreams” and “Pipedreams LIVE!”. In the summer of 2007, Caroline attended the French Organ Music Seminar, held in Paris, France; and was a student at the Kimmel Center Organ Camp in Philadelphia, where she studied with Alan Morrison. She is the Third Prize winner of the 9th Annual Albert Schweitzer Organ Competition. In addition, she was awarded Second Prize at the 2007 L. Cameron Johnson Organ Competition. She is the two-time recipient of the Shirley Kroske Reinsmith Organ scholarship, presented by the Crescent Music Club of Greenville, SC. Caroline attends Wade Hampton High School, where she is a sophomore. She also attends the Fine Arts Center for Strings Chamber Music. Her piano trio will compete in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in May.
